Artistic Statement / Biography

Adrian Duncan is a Dublin based artist. His practice is based in sculpture, drawing, video and writing.

His work deals with the overlap between engineering and art, particularly in geometry and material. He investigates this through sculpture / installation.

His writing / video and drawing work is employed to create narratives that move from the absurd in fiction and non-fiction to the historical, to the technical and the natural.

He studied and worked as a structural engineer, in the U.K. and Ireland for over a decade, before returning to study fine art at I.A.D.T. and subsequently an M.A. in N.C.A.D. His work, conceptually and aesthetically can be derived from this background.

He is assistant editor of Paper Visual Art journal, to which he also contributes.
